1. Tags

Tags are special codes that represent different types of AcroForm fields.

Tags can be inserted into a document using a text editor (such as Microsoft Word). They are typically applied in white text color, making them invisible to the end user while still readable by Signatus. During document processing, Signatus detects these tags and renders the corresponding AcroForm fields in the document.

When to use tags for document preparation #

Tags are especially useful in the following scenarios:

  • When documents for signing are generated in a customer’s system and tags can be easily embedded into the document text to prepare it for signing in Signatus.
  • When a document needs to be prepared for signing without installing a PDF editor, for example for quick demonstrations or testing.

To use tags, tag recognition must be enabled in the Signatus license, so that inserted tags are correctly detected and processed.

Signatus recognizes the following Tags:

Signature Tags (Android, Windows, Server)
Optional Signature _SO1_;_SO2_;_SO3_;_SO4_;_SO5_
Mandatory Signature _S1_;_S2_;_S3_;_S4_;_S5_
Checkbox Tags (Android, Windows, Server)
Checkbox _C1_;_C2_;_C3_;_C4_;_C5_
Checked Checkbox _CO1_;_CO2_;_CO3_;_CO4_;_CO5_
Mandatory Checkbox _CR1_;_CR2_;_CR3_;_CR4_;_CR5_
Text field Tags (Android, Windows, Server)
Optional Text field _TO1_; _TO2_; _TO3_; _TO4_; _TO5_
Mandatory Text field _TC1_; _TC2_; _TC3_; _TC4_; _TC5_
Radio button Tags (Android, Windows, Server)
Optional Radio button _RO1_$_; _RO2_$_; _RO3_$_; _RO4_$_; _RO5_$_
Mandatory Radio button _RC1_$_; _RC2_$_; _RC3_$_; _RC4_$_; _RC5_$_
Text Area Tags (Android, Windows, Server)
Optional Text Area _TAO1_;_TAO2_;_TAO3_;_TAO4_;_TAO5_
Mandatory Text Area _TAC1_;_TAC2_;_TAC3_;_TAC4_;_TAC5_

NOTE: Checkboxes on the document come before signature. If Mandatory checkbox is used on the document, it has to be checked before the document can be signed. This is also due to the reason, that once the document is signed all available checkboxes are locked and cannot be changed anymore.

NOTE: Radio button group in document supports just 2 radio buttons
