# Download envelope

This section describes how to download an envelope from the Signatus 2 API. It explains how to retrieve documents and related data from an envelope, typically after processing or completion of the workflow.

Downloads the complete envelope (all its documents and metadata) as a single ZIP file. This service is typically used for archiving or downloading all related files at once after the envelope is completed.

Request path variable:

## Response description

| 401 Unauthorized | When user is not authenticated |
| 403 Forbidden | When user lacks required permissions |
| 404 Not Found | If the envelope with the specified id does not exist. |
| 500 Internal Server Error | Server processing error |

## Contents of the archive

| envelope (default) | • envelope.json with the envelope, processes and document processes metadata (example in chapter Envelope info complete) • all documents of the envelope. |
| documents | All documents of the envelope only. If the envelope has exactly one PDF document, the PDF is returned directly, not zipped. |
| data | Technical export for diagnostics and support, without documents: • envelope_*.json – the envelope with its processes • envelopeType_*.json – the envelope type • documentProcess_*.json – assignment of documents to processes • document_*.json – document records • auditEnvelope_*.json – audit trail of the envelope • auditProcess_*.json – audit trail of each process (one file per process) • *.log – server log files for the day the envelope was created |
