1.4 How to use acrofields

Acrofields are similar to Tags in terms of use. Difference is that Acrofields can be inserted into the document only in PDF Creator / Editor (e.g.  Adobe Acrobat Pro). Such a PDF editing tools offer predefined acrofields, such as standard text fields, radio buttons, checkboxes, comboboxes or signature fields, which can be inserted into the PDF document.

If an Acrofield name contains certain characters as explained below, Acrofields can have additional functionality or obligation can be defined.

We distinguish between optional and mandatory acrofields. Mandatory acrofields must be filled before signing the document.

The following prefixes for Acrofield names are currently in use:

Signature Field
Optional Signature SO
Compulsory Signature SC, S
Checkbox Field
Optional CheckboxCO
Compulsory CheckboxCR
Text Field – if used, Text Field can be filled when the document is displayed and can be signed.
Optional Text Field TO
Compulsory Text Field TC
Radio Button Group (Server)
Optional Radio button Group RO
Compulsory Radio button Group RC
Combo Box
Optional combobox CBO
Compulsory combobox CBC

NOTE: 2 Acrofields can’t have completely the same name, in such cases, add character to the name (e.g. Acrofield 1: SO; Acrofield 2: SO1)
